The Personnel Department is responsible for coordinating and directing the administrative processes associated with employee benefits, payroll, employment, training, and development, as well as safety in accordance with Houston County Policies and Procedures adopted by the Houston County Commission and the Rules and Regulations of the Personnel Board of Houston County.
Houston County employs over 400 employees in various full-time and part-time positions within the following departments: County Commission Office, Road and Bridge Department, Probate Judge's Office, Revenue Commissioner's Office, Sanitation, Emergency Management Agency, Building Maintenance, Accounting, Community Corrections, Information Technology, and the Farm Center.
The Personnel Department also provides administrative support in the areas of payroll and benefits for the Houston County Sheriff's Office.
