Duties: Performs technical, administrative and management work overseeing the daily operations of the County Buildings & Grounds Division; this includes directing and prioritizing new building projects as well as maintenance on all County owned buildings and properties. Duties include overseeing all activity of building maintenance, develop short and long range plans; performs administrative duties, manages special projects and events, supervises employees, and assisting with the facilities operating budget. Responds to complaints to determine action required by County Buildings & Grounds personnel and works to seek resolution. Oversees County Buildings & Grounds Staff; assigning tasks and projects, provides information and direction on how to complete assignments and inspects work for quality and timeliness. Keeps records on repairs and maintenance performed on buildings and equipment. Responds to, determines and assigns ALL to after-hours emergency calls. Required to make independent purchasing decisions set forth in County policies & State law regarding purchasing to include annually reporting to the state ethics commission. Work is performed under policies and directives of the County Buildings Director; however independent judgment and discretion must be exercised. |
Qualification: High School or Vocational School Diploma or GED Certificate plus seven years of recent, progressively responsible experience in administrative operations of commercial buildings and construction projects to include at least two years of supervisory experience. Valid Driver's License. Ability to read and write in English. Ability to read building diagrams, specifications, and blueprints. Ability to take projects from concept to completion with limited supervision. Strong mechanical aptitude is required. Must file Annual State Ethics report. |
