Summary

This position will be responsible for performing physical checks to verify addresses, determine occupancy and or vacancy on returned bills, to ensure proper billing status, and establish price for limb pickup for County residents. This position will also be responsible for updating and maintaining E-911 reports and verifying property owners through tax records. The supervisor also interviews, hires, trains, and oversees employees involved in waste collection and disposal. Assigns personnel and equipment in order to accomplish scheduled collection and disposal in an efficient and safe manner. Ensures that equipment is maintain routinely and properly. Performs spot checks on routes to ensure that duties are being performed in the manner required. Assists public with questions and problems.

Minumum Qualifications

High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate plus three years of experience in waste collection and disposal using specified equipment, such as a packer truck, automated side loader, and knuckle boom truck. Must have at least two years of supervisory experience, including one year of general office experience and the ability to use tax records and maps or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Prefer individual with experience driving a truck and directing a crew.

Other: Valid Class B Alabama Commercial Driving License

 

Starting Salary

$26.39-$39.92 (Grade 22)
