Houston County Commission Continues Suspension of In-Person Transactions
The Commission met today in a Special Session and adopted a Resolution in summary as stated below:
“NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by this Resolution that the Houston County Commission hereby suspends all in-person proceedings at all public buildings owned or leased by and under the control of the Houston County Commission through May 15, 2020, except as required by law or provided for under Administrative Order of the Supreme Court of Alabama.”
This directive is effective Monday, May 4, 2020, and will be reviewed as situations change. Citizens are encouraged to transact County business online and by mail.
“We are committed to continuing our service to the public and with that, our law enforcement, garbage pick-up, and other essential services remain the same,” said Mark Culver, Houston County Commission Chair. “The most important thing is that everyone in the community does their part to stay informed, stay calm, and recognize that we all have a responsibility to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.”
Additional announcements will be made as new information becomes available.
