Revamped & Reimagined: The New Houston County Farm Center will Soon Begin to Take Shape

Posted April 23, 2024

The Houston County Commission is proud to announce that after a months-long design process, the plans for the revamped Farm Center are beginning to take shape. The new design keeps the iconic dome shaped building intact. But the building becomes more usable by removing most of the exterior walls. This turns the dome building into a roughly 39,000SF covered event pavilion.

Initially, the green space may not be as expansive as what is shown in the renderings, as the renderings have removed a structure currently housing the county extension offices. These offices must be relocated before the green space around the structure can reach its full potential.

The work on the roof should begin in a few months. The entirity of the project should wrap up in 2025.
