State of Emergency Declared for Houston County

Houston County is now under a local State of Emergency. At this moment we expect significant rain, localized flooding, and strong gusts in parts of the county. With the saturated ground, there is a possibility of downed trees and power outages. We strongly urge people to stay off the roads beginning this evening and continuing while the system moves through the area. We also remind everyone to never drive through standing water.
