Houston County Recording has partnered with Ingenuity, Inc., to bring you online access to land records. It is free to search and view as many records as you desire with only a nominal charge ($1.00 per page) when you decide to download. You can either pay-as-you-go or create a free account with Ingenuity and add payment credentials for a quicker and more convenient online checkout experience. If you create an account, your purchased records will remain accessible to you online for 30 days after purchase.

Please read before proceeding to the website. This is a public website so you can now search from home.

Creating an Account

You do not need to create an account. You can view and download as many records as you like without creating an account with Ingenuity. However, there are benefits to registering:

• All downloads remain on your account and available for thirty (30) days after purchase.
• You can save payment information to your account for use when you download records - no need to continually enter all those numbers each time you need something.

To Search

Click on "Look up Land Records". (Use "Look up Land Records to search Marriage Records, as well)

• If you are searching property records, you do not need an account, this is optional. If you want to search without an account click on "Pay per Document."
• If you want to search and print Court Records, you will need to create an account. To create an account, click on "Account Signup".

How to Search

Select the "Search Type" based on the information you have for searching.

• To search by name, put the Last Name first. Do not use punctuation. Every field does not need to be completed; put in the information you have and click on "Search".
  Tip: sometimes the less information you enter the more results.
• Utilize the Index Filter to narrow searches.

Cost

Searching is free! You will only pay if you want to print copies. Copies are $1.00 per page.  There is no limit to the number of records you can view each day, week, or month. When you find a document you want to print simply add the document to the cart. At the end of the search, click on "Checkout" and pay for the copies using your credit/debit card.
